Just got back from my nurse appointment and gave myself my first testosterone injection. Easy peasy. Currently using Androgel, which is applied daily and has risen in cost to $450 a month after insurance. The injected version is once a week, and a 22-week supply is $44. This was a no-brainer, and the needle is so thin you don't feel it at all.

Looking forward to a relaxing weekend. And Steve ([livejournal.com profile] rootbeer1) is here till Friday, so that's nice.

I have Testopel pellets injected in my butt muscle every three months. They dissolve slowly, and it's covered by insurance. Here is a video of the process. https://vimeo.com/46950968

I've been doing it for about a year and see no other side effects accept boners in the morning when I wake up. :) I also am in a better mood and have more energy. Glad you found something that works for you.

$450 after insurance?! Yikes!

I have to wonder how they do the dosing on this sort of thing now - I had a friend who was on injectable T some years back but the protocol was weird - the stuff would nearly wear off before the next injection so his levels were constantly changing and that had dramatic effects on his mood.
