qbear: (relax)
Last week was busy at work for me. I only telecommuted one day, Wednesday, so I could bring Steve ([livejournal.com profile] rootbeer1) to his appointment with the orthopedic surgeon. Good news--things are progressing nicely and Steve can finally start putting weight on the leg, which will help stimulate bone growth and consolidate the "cornflakes" on the plateau of his poor shattered tibia. Steve was greatly encouraged by the news, and has been a lot more active, surprising me Friday with a cleaned living room when I got home from work.

Alas, I was dog-tired, plus had a splitting sinus headache, so we had to cancel long-anticipated dinner plans with our friends Paul ([livejournal.com profile] excessor) and Curtis ([livejournal.com profile] dr_scott) down in Sunnyvale. I really, really hated bagging out, especialy since Paul and Curtis were cooking for us, but I actually didn't feel too safe driving with the headache and fatigue and all. Hopefully we'll get reinvited soon--I promise I'll rest up extra to ensure alertness.

Today our friend Phil ([livejournal.com profile] foodpoisoningsf) came over and swept Steve away for a few hours. They went to Crissy Field and strolled in the sunshine, Phil pushing Steve's wheelchair. They even got hot dogs. I stayed home and cleaned, did laundry, rearranged the wireless hardware, and started a big pot of chili, which is simmering on the stove as we speak.

No plans for tomorrow, which is fine by me. I may even go in the hot tub! And rest.
