Since Steve ([livejournal.com profile] rootbeer1) is fighting off a cold, and I'm trying to keep from getting it, the last few nights have been all about the comfort foods. Last night, I made macaroni and cheese, fish sticks, and roasted Brussels sprouts. Tonight, Steve made Crazy Crust Pizza, and I made a chocolate pudding cake, which Steve's family refers to as "Chocky-Poo Puddy Cake." It's that magic recipe where you make a brownie-like batter, top it with a mixture of brown sugar and cocoa, then a couple cups of hot water and bake. Forty-five minutes later, out comes a cake floating on a layer of chocolate sauce. Takes us both back to our childhoods when we, as little budding Betty Crockers, each made this dessert for our families.

Hope to see as many of you as possible in SF at the Live Journal Picnic in Dolores Park at noon.
